the Role

Essity Manufacturing Professional Hygiene North America is currently seeking a Process Engineer for our manufacturing plant located in Cherokee, AL.

We’re looking for people who embody our values, aren’t afraid to challenge, innovate, experiment, and move at a fast pace. If this is you, we’d love to talk.

What You Will Do
  • Act as a Role Model for Safety
  • Set, monitor and improve processes according to Statistical Process Control methods
  • Set and save process settings and standards (e.g., center lining, CIL) and facilitate application of standards/system
  • Support product/material development and project implementation. Master DDS zero loss flow chart and coach teams in application
  • Own technical gap analysis of area of responsibility
  • Lead small group activity in own technology area; expert for process and technology for lines
  • Continuously optimize production processes sustainably through RCA and standardization
  • Train and coach operation teams to improve behaviors to defined standards and procedures
Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Paper Science, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or other related engineering field preferred; equivalent experience accepted
  • Minimum of 1 year of process engineering experience required
  • High speed equipment experience strongly preferred
  • Maintenance planning or Continuous Improvement methodology experience preferred
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Skill in SAP or another CMMS and MES
  • Skill in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Power Point
  • Ability to lead teams through change and improvement
