Application Engineer

Growing Groves is partnering with private company to find a Bearing Application Engineer for their team in Greensboro/Winston-Salem, NC. This is a role for an experienced technical individual who thrives on overseeing precision repair operations, determining failure root causes, and mentoring a team of technicians.

The company's business practices are built on transparency in quoting and diagnostics to build a reputation of trust with group companies being founded as early as the mid '50s! The right person for this role will be interested in furthering their technical depth in machine tool applications and developing themselves to become the next site leader/GM.

This is a great role for someone who has been working for a bearing OEM and wants to deepen a specialty and get out of traditional bearing roles!

Our client is seeking a Bearing Application Engineer to oversee all functions of their service facility, specializing in high-speed rotating equipment and machining applications. This person will serve as a critical technical resource, bridging the gap between the shop floor, the sales team, and the customer by ensuring all repairs meet rigorous quality standards and delivery schedules. An understanding of high-speed bearing applications is a must.

Greensboro/Winston-Salem, NC

General Manager

• Oversee and direct all functions of the service facility.
• Supervise and mentor Repair Technicians as direct reports, scheduling and assigning repairs based on their individual experience and proficiency.
• Coordinate with the second Service Center to balance the overall workload and direct repairs to the facility that can perform the work most efficiently.
• Support the Sales team with technical expertise, answering questions and providing accurate cost and schedule estimates.
• Provide expert guidance on cause of failure and recommend potential performance improvements to customers.
• Review and finalize evaluation/failure reports, determining the repair costs of both purchased components and repair labor to formulate accurate quotes.
• Review and evaluate completed repairs to ensure strict adherence to quality standards and guarantee product performance for the customer.

• Technical knowledge of super precision rolling element bearing application in high-speed rotating equipment is required.
• Seeking at least two years of strict technical exposure OR a longer career mix

• Bachelor's Degree in ME, MET, or equivalent
• Specific experience in machine tool service, precision machining, or grinding is highly desired.
• Experience with ERP and quoting

This position offers a salary of range of $90,000 - $140,000 based on experience. The company provides a traditional benefits package.
