This role sits at the intersection of technical excellence and strategic project delivery. You will lead complex hydrologic and hydraulic modelling efforts while helping shape broader project outcomes across floodplain management and resilience initiatives. The position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced technical leaders on large‑scale, multi‑stakeholder programs with regional and national impact—without being purely production‑focused.
Key Responsibilities- Lead hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, watershed analysis, and flood risk/resilience projects
- Act as a technical reviewer and subject matter advisor on modelling, data analysis, and outputs
- Manage projects from scoping through delivery, including budgets, schedules, and client coordination
- Support development of flood risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and resilience frameworks
- Provide QA/QC oversight on reports, models, and technical deliverables
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across infrastructure, restoration, and planning initiatives
- Contribute to proposals and strategic pursuits where technical input is required
- Mentor junior staff and support internal standards, best practices, and technical development
- Bachelor's or Master's in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain
- 10+ years of experience in water resources, floodplain, or environmental engineering
- Strong technical background in hydrology, hydraulics, watershed modelling, or water quality
- Experience with flood risk, FEMA‑related, or resilience‑focused programs advantageous
- Proficiency in tools such as HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, ICPR, GIS, or similar platforms
- Proven ability to operate in a technical leadership, project management, or hybrid role
- Experience working with public‑sector clients (municipal, state, or federal)
- Focus on technical leadership and strategic project delivery rather than heavy business development
