The Ontic Engineering Team is looking for a
** Manufacturing Engineer
** to join the Manufacturing production team!

**** Position
Purpose:
** The Manufacturing Engineer II position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and guiding manufacturing engineering functions through new or existing products.
The focus in this position is to coordinate with other departments and outside suppliers, to ensure that functional requirements and expected quality of production parts are met. This includes working from engineering design documents, specifications, prototypes and/or change orders to determine equipment, tooling, materials and methods of manufacture to produce quality products within cost and specification guidelines.
** Essential Functions & Basic Duties:
*** Interprets complex mechanical drawings, schematics and technical specifications to evaluate product designs to develop manufacturing work instructions, processes, routers, operating standards and test protocols.
* Develops prototype/pilot manufacturing builds to test and evaluate product and process designs and revisions.
* Works in close collaboration with other engineering teams, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales and Quality in the launch of new products and the manufacturing support and improvement of existing products.
* Develops and designs tools and fixtures, researches and specifies manufacturing machinery, equipment and systems.
* Creates and maintains accurate mechanical drawings, schematics, technical specifications and manufacturing process documentation.
* Provides documentation and training on assembly methods, test procedures and production equipment.
* Conducts failure analyses to resolve manufacturability or quality issues.
* Perform machine maintenance and high-level troubleshooting.
* Provides technical assistance in matters of applications, products, materials, equipment and processes.
** Qualifications &
Education:
*** Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, electrical engineering technology or equivalent.
* Minimum four years of experience in manufacturing, planning and fabrication, working with AC/DC motors, actuators, hydraulic pumps, valves, electro-mechanical assemblies and accessories.
* Able to coach and mentor rising engineers.
* Knowledge of materials, outside processes, NDT and specifications as related to precision aerospace components and systems.
* Knowledge of design/drafting practices, geometric tolerancing, and proficiency in reading/understanding mechanical drawings.
* Effective communication and ability to write clear, concise technical reports.
* Project management.
* Formal problem-solving methodologies.
* Lean, Six-Sigma, DOE and statistical analysis
* Strong computer skills including MS Office, 2D & 3D CAD.
