Overview
Eaton’s Electrical Sector - ARS PDCA division is seeking a Senior Custom Order Engineer onsite at our Fayetteville, NC facility. Relocation assistance is available to candidates currently residing in the US.
The Senior Customer Order Engineer provides electrical and mechanical design and documentation support for power distribution product lines. This includes engineering designs, directing application engineers and designers, using design automation software, and collaboration with production, customers, and field sales.
Responsibilities- Consult with plant and field sales engineers to interpret and define new equipment applications.
- Develop complex drawings and bills of materials based on established product designs, detailing the purchaser’s equipment application.
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical interfaces with other products.
- Advise Drafting/Design, Manufacturing, and Purchasing in interpreting information for accurate production of equipment per purchaser requirements.
- Manage purchaser onsite visits to approve and/or release equipment for shipping.
- Manage Manufacturing and Engineering Change Notices.
- Demonstrate advanced computer skills and the ability to learn required software (Bid Manager, AutoCAD, Design Automation, MAPICS).
- Consult with Quality to resolve issues after shipment when required.
- Conduct special development/application projects of a complex nature.
- Inform cost and cycle time improvement activities.
- Provide technical training guidance and seminars as required.
- Analyze needs and recommend revisions to Department Policies and Procedures.
Basic (required)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering concentration from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of two (2) years of engineering experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Two or more years of experience with AutoCAD and/or other engineering and design software programs.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's of Science degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
- Previous experience with electrical distribution equipment.
- Working knowledge of NEC, IEEE, UL, and various local electric codes.
- Ability to interpret both customer specifications and electrical and mechanical drawings.
