We are seeking an experienced engineering professional to lead cross-functional product development initiatives from concept through commercialization in the Research Triangle Extended Market area. This candidate will combine strong engineering expertise with project leadership skills to deliver innovative solutions, improve processes, and collaborate across multiple business functions.

Responsibilities:

Lead product development projects throughout the entire lifecycle, from concept and design through launch and continuous improvement.
Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, budgets, and deliverables.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure projects remain on track and meet performance expectations.
Identify project risks, implement mitigation strategies, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
Evaluate product concepts and designs for technical feasibility, manufacturability, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
Support product validation activities, testing programs, and design optimization efforts.
Utilize data analysis, engineering principles, and structured problem-solving methodologies to address technical challenges.
Create and maintain technical specifications, product documentation, and development records.
Investigate product performance issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with customer-facing and operational teams to support business growth and product success.
Drive process improvements and promote engineering best practices across the organization.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering team members.
Stay current with relevant industry trends, standards, technologies, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
7+ years of engineering and product development experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Demonstrated success leading projects, managing timelines, and delivering results.
Strong understanding of product design principles and manufacturing processes.
Experience working with CAD software and technical design tools.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Self-motivated with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with 3D CAD modeling software.
Project management certification.
Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement training/certification.
Familiarity with industry standards and engineering specifications.
Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) initiatives and product launches.
