The Fayetteville Marksmen are seeking a dynamic and aspiring Play-by-Play Broadcaster to be the voice of our team for all home games and select team events.

This game-day, seasonal position offers an exciting opportunity to connect with fans and bring the thrilling action of SPHL hockey to life. The ideal candidate will possess a deep knowledge of hockey, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to deliver engaging and professional commentary.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide captivating live play-by-play commentary for all Fayetteville Marksmen home games, both in-arena and via broadcast.
  • Conduct thorough research and preparation for each game, including player statistics, team narratives, and league information.
  • Work collaboratively with the game presentation and media teams to enhance the overall fan experience.
  • Engage with the audience through compelling storytelling and analysis, creating an immersive broadcast.
  • Maintain a professional and energetic on-air presence at all times.
  • Be available for pre-game and post-game show elements, including interviews with coaches, players, and front office staff as required.
  • Operate or coordinate with technical staff regarding broadcast equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support game day operations.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a play-by-play broadcaster, with a strong preference for sports broadcasting, particularly hockey.
  • Exceptional verbal communication, articulation, and improvisational skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of hockey rules, strategies, and the SPHL.
  • Ability to think quickly, analyze game situations, and react effectively in a live broadcast environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for game preparation.
  • Professional demeanor, strong work ethic, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Availability to work all Fayetteville Marksmen home games, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Familiarity with broadcast equipment and software is a plus.
  • Must be local to the Fayetteville area or have reliable transportation to the Crown Coliseum for all home games.
