Data Solutions Architect SME – Army/Defense sector.
OverviewLead modernization of data infrastructure, ensuring national security and unlocking data’s potential in mission‑critical environments. Design secure, resilient data architectures aligned with zero‑trust principles, combine expertise in Varonis, Virtru, BigID, Collibra, Ohalo, and Trellix, and balance security, scalability, and performance across hybrid and cloud environments.
Responsibilities- Design and deliver innovative data solutions to improve storage, access, and security of mission‑critical information while enabling seamless collaboration.
- Enhance zero‑trust data security using Varonis and Trellix through advanced access controls, threat detection, and risk mitigation.
- Establish robust governance frameworks with BigID, Collibra, and Ohalo to enable data classification, lineage tracking, and compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and FEDRAMP.
- Enforce end‑to‑end encryption with Virtru to secure data at rest and in transit.
- Modernize legacy pipelines to create cloud‑native, scalable architectures that support real‑time decision‑making and advanced analytics.
- Develop architecture roadmaps, produce design documentation, and mentor junior engineers.
- Advance operational analytics, AI, and machine‑learning capabilities while ensuring ethical governance and secure data access.
- 3+ years designing, deploying, and configuring data security solutions.
- Hands‑on experience with data security tools such as Virtru.
- Experience with data‑centric security models and maintenance.
- Designing, implementing, configuring, operating, or testing IT systems or security infrastructure.
- Knowledge of DLP solutions and tools, including Trellix, Cisco Email Security Appliance, and Splunk.
- Knowledge of Zero Trust principles and solutions.
- Effective cross‑functional collaboration with stakeholders.
- TS/SCI clearance.
- HS diploma or GED.
- Security+ certification.
- Relating data‑loss prevention solutions to zero‑trust strategy.
- Experience with data security posture management tools such as Varonis and BigID.
- Experience in data governance within DoW or IC agency environments.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Salary range: $99,000 – $225,000 annually. Total compensation includes health, life, disability, and retirement benefits, paid leave, professional development, and tuition assistance.
