ResponsibilitiesAs a Dev Ops Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for distributed and managed services, automating the installation, configuration, and maintenance of platform services. You will manage system tuning for reliability and efficiency, guide and manage software releases for new features, and support users through consolidation. You may occasionally perform administrative operations of server hardware and software. Ensure system security, execute established practices, troubleshoot system-related problems, and stay current with operating systems and technologies.
Provide recommendations to management and offer technical guidance in the development or modification of software programs and applications to enhance the operating system.
- 5 years of IT and/or software experience
- DOD 8570 IAT Level II required (Level III preferred)
- Participated in or led agile development teams
- In-depth understanding of Dev Ops methodologies
- Experience with CI tools (Concourse, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Bamboo, Team City or similar)
- Experience in VMware vSphere / ESXi / NSX-T
- Experience with networking technologies (load balancing, DNS, SSL, firewalls, NAT, SDN)
- Experience using Git
- Experience in release management
- Experience supporting production systems using Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
- Ability to work at a high technical level across all phases of systems engineering
- Excellent communication and briefing skills; tact, active listening, and follow-through
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a mission-critical environment
- Detail-oriented and organized; ability to understand information systems and ensure accuracy
- Provides technical guidance and leadership to engineers with less experience
- Experience in AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and Open Stack
- Experience with Kubernetes, Chef, Ansible, BOSH, or related automation/orchestration tools
- Experience with platform-as-a-service products such as Cloud Foundry, Heroku, Elastic Beanstalk, or similar
- Experience with DNS, NTP, SAML, OAuth 2, Active Directory
- Understanding of systems monitoring, alerting and analytics (e.g., Prometheus, Nagios, Splunk, Datadog, etc.)
- Background in Windows deployment, automation, and related technologies
- Experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MSSQL) and messaging middleware (e.g., RabbitMQ)
