SummaryAs a Business Analyst – Medicaid Claims – Hybrid at Gainwell, you will use technology to help clients improve the health and well‑being of the communities they serve. This client‑facing role with the State of Florida requires strong verbal and written communication skills and a passion for solving complex healthcare challenges. You must be able to work independently, manage responsibilities effectively, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Your role in our mission- Support business analyst team activities on IT projects and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
- Work with the Business Analyst Advisor and clients to develop business specifications at the start of technical projects.
- Analyze, plan, design, and document business processes, and recommend improvements aligned with client technology goals.
- Verify requirements by creating, executing, and validating test results.
- Use analytical and database tools such as Excel or SQL to support testing and system changes.
- Three or more years of Business Analyst experience translating technical requirements into actionable outcomes; includes Medicaid Claims experience.
- Understanding of programming concepts such as configuration, development, and batch processing.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools.
- Strong client communication skills with the ability to translate needs into actionable objectives.
- Strong analytical and business process improvement skills.
- Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills for both technical and business audiences.
- A collaborative team player who can influence others and clearly communicate technical concepts.
- SQL knowledge (preferred).
- Medicaid Management Information Systems (preferred).
- Medicaid claims experience (required).
- Testing and requirements gathering (required).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (required).
- Client‑facing experience (required).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to learn quickly.
- Must be within commuting distance of Tallahassee, Florida.
- Hybrid schedule requiring onsite work 1–2 days per week.
- Video cameras must be used during all interviews.
Position type:
Full‑time, salaried. Salary range: $55,600.00 - $79,400.00 per year. The base pay offered may vary based on geographic region, internal equity, and job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
