Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Overview
The Sustainment Coordinators (SC) are responsible for knowing automated logistical functions, such as processing Modification Work Orders (MWOs) and Safety of Use Messages (SOUMs). They coordinate with units utilizing systems including GCSS-A, MRM, ARMT, AESIP, MMIS, and the FMS web.
Responsibilities- Support the Army Reserve (AR) Depot Maintenance Program under the direction of the Sustainment Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Supervisor.
- Support commands in the region to mitigate problems in filling tasked quotas, resolve scheduling conflicts, and other issues preventing timely delivery of assets to depot maintenance facilities.
- Track all depot rebuild candidates from origination to completion on an inclusive spreadsheet with government-specific information.
- Provide monthly depot maintenance status reports to supported customers.
- Support MWOs and SOUM programs by providing reports, advice, and/or training to unit personnel as required.
- Maintain a working knowledge of MMIS and update data as maintained.
- Use available automated databases to maintain awareness of existing MWOs and SOUMs for equipment assets on hand within an assigned region. Develop management tools and databases to track MWO application and SOUM compliance and maintain the most current status.
- Provide a monthly status report to supported OFTS unit maintenance personnel within an assigned region.
- Monitor and validate application of MWOs and compliance of SOU/GPA/MA/MI information within MMIS.
- Travel up to 30% of the time to conduct inspection visits to ascertain current level of compliance and to validate initial MWO applications performed by organic and/or contract support personnel at maintenance/training facilities.
- Perform other supply, maintenance, and program responsibilities as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Attend workshops and conduct unit site visits as required.
- Provide depot, MWO, and SOUM support to units within an assigned region.
- Provide customer reports/metrics and assist unit personnel in the posting of MWOs and Safety Messages.
- Assist units with Depot Warranty Claims and conduct travel as necessary to perform duties.
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in managing and processing MWOs and Ground Safety and Maintenance Messages.
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in use of GCSS-Army, AESIP, and FMSweb.
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in inspecting and assessing military vehicles and tactical equipment for potential induction into depot programs.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must be able to obtain an interim secret clearance within 60 days of hire.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
