The Director of Nursing Services will organize, direct, and supervise the functions of clinical and/or procedural units within our 68 facility bed The Director of Inpatient Nursing will ensure policy and procedures are followed; safe staffing levels are maintained; supplies and equipment are at sufficient levels; and efficient patient throughput is managed. This position will also develop, implement, and manage the department budget and engage in ongoing quality and performance improvement, invests in lifelong learning for staff professional development and assures employees complete required annual competencies.
Communicates important information to the CNO and other senior leadership members as needed.
- Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance the quality and efficiency of inpatient services, aligning with the hospital's mission and goals. - Team Management:
Supervise, mentor, and lead a team of healthcare professionals, including nurses, physicians, and support staff, to deliver exceptional patient care. - Quality Assurance:
Monitor and maintain high standards of patient care, compliance with regulatory requirements, and adherence to best practices. - Resource Management:
Allocate resources effectively, including staffing, equipment, and budgeting, to optimize the delivery of inpatient services. - Performance Improvement:
Continuously assess and improve inpatient services by analyzing data, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing evidence-based practices. - Patient
Experience:
Ensure that patients receive compassionate and patient-centered care, addressing any concerns or issues promptly. - Collaboration:
Collaborate with other hospital departments and healthcare providers to coordinate patient care and enhance overall hospital operations. - Compliance:
Stay up to date with healthcare regulations and standards, ensuring that inpatient services are in full compliance. - Emergency Response:
Be prepared to manage inpatient services during emergency situations or crises effectively.

- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Master’s degree is preferred
- Required License:
- Registered Nurse in North Carolina (or compact state) is required
- BLS is required within 30 days of hire
- Minimum of 3-5 years nursing experience in a long term care unit required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years leadership experience (Supervisor, Manager, Director, etc.) required.
- This position requires a combination of analytical skill and interpersonal / relationship skill.
- Must be detail oriented, organized, and able to work with multiple diverse departments.
