USGP is seeking a dedicated Physician Extender (PA/NP) to provide exceptional care to military service members, their families, and veterans in the Emergency Medicine Department at Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Liberty, NC.
- 1099 Contract Position
- Pay Rate: $100.00/hr.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program within the nursing specialty, recognized by
- ACEN
- or
- CCNE
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, certified by the ARC-PA
. Certifications
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (advanced certifications such as ALS do not replace BLS).
- Minimum of one year of professional nursing experience
, defined as performing physical exams, ordering/interpreting labs, and diagnosing or prescribing medications. - Must demonstrate clinical competency in the required discipline within the past two years.
- Completion of an accredited nursing educational program, recognized by CCNE, the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or another U.S. Department of Education–recognized accrediting body.
- Successful completion of the NCLEX and possession of a current, active, full, and unrestricted nursing license from any U.S. state, territory, D.C., or Puerto Rico.
- Must obtain DEA registration

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Provide clinical leadership and education to staff, including delivering evidence-based lectures and participating in in-service training.
- Promote preventive care and health maintenance through annual exams, counseling, and patient education.
- Prescribe medications and immunizations in accordance with approved protocols and P&T Committee guidelines.
- Identify medical issues and determine appropriate interventions, including referrals to physicians when necessary.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within scope of practice.
- Establish strong collaborative relationships with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support primary care delivery.
- Educate patients and families on healthy practices and wellness strategies.
- Diagnose and treat common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, and minor trauma following clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with the healthcare team for patient care and education.
- Recognize when isolation precautions are required and ensure universal precautions are followed.
- Participate in staff meetings, case discussions, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.
