American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an LTAC unit, requiring 2 years of MS/Telemetry experience, prior travel experience, and Epic proficiency for a 13-week night shift contract.
Details- Long-term acute care (LTAC) hospital setting with 66 total staffed beds
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM start)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within the hospital or to a sister campus may be required based on facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- Charts in Epic (experience required)
- Active NC or compact RN license required; pending licensure not accepted
- Certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in MS/Telemetry required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- LTAC experience preferred
- Core skills required include: IV therapy, central line care/management, peripheral line care, arterial line management, blood product administration, wound care/wound vac, heparin protocols, feeding tube care, isolation precautions/PPE, interpretation of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and IV insulin protocols
- Preferred skills include: PICC line management, phlebotomy, care of ventilated patients, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, HFNC, ABG interpretation, CBI, pre/post hemodialysis management, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, PCA management
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible for this position
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Royal blue and white scrubs required
- RTO is subject to manager's discretion, with a maximum of 4 days; only 1 holiday off can be approved
- Pre-start orientation modules are required (approximately 4–10 hours)
- Previous employees must have been gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Night shift travelers may extend up to twice (2 contracts total); after reaching the extension limit, a 6-month gap is required before reapplying
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- No background or license hits within the past year will be approved
