Physician Assistant (PA) – Vascular Access & Ultrasound-Guided Procedures
- Position Type: Full-Time
- Locations: Raleigh, Dunn, Oxford, and Henderson, NC
- Salary: $130,000 - $150,000 Annually
The Physician Assistant will work closely with board-certified interventional cardiologists and interventional radiologists to perform ultrasound-guided vascular access procedures and provide comprehensive patient care. This position is ideal for providers who enjoy procedural medicine and working in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities- Perform ultrasound-guided PICC line placements.
- Perform ultrasound-guided central venous catheter placements, including internal jugular and femoral access.
- Evaluate patients for vascular access needs and procedural suitability.
- Conduct pre-procedure assessments and obtain informed consent.
- Utilize sterile techniques and ultrasound guidance for all procedures.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures.
- Identify and manage procedural complications when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, and referring providers.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Support additional office-based vascular and procedural services as needed.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Active North Carolina Physician Assistant license (or eligibility for licensure).
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of independent experience performing ultrasound-guided PICC lines and/or central venous catheter placements.
- Strong proficiency with ultrasound-guided procedures.
- Excellent clinical, procedural, and patient communication skills.
- Experience in:
- Interventional Radiology
- Vascular Surgery
- Critical Care
- Vascular Access Teams
- Experience with midline catheter placement.
- Experience placing dialysis catheters.
- Experience with arterial line placement.
- Familiarity with fluoroscopy-guided procedures.
- Monday through Friday
- Rotating weekend on-call coverage (approximately one weekend per month)
- Occasional travel between Champion Health System locations
