Position: PATIENT SUPPORT NURSE

Position Summary

Valeris is a fully integrated life sciences commercialization partner that provides comprehensive solutions across the entire healthcare value chain. The Patient Support Nurse is a blended role focused on facilitating patients’ journeys to and through therapy by providing care coordination, education, psychosocial support, medication and disease‑state education, and clinical feedback for patient support programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide education and support to patients, caregivers, and health‑care providers regarding assigned therapeutic areas and maintain accurate records of activity per program setup.
  • Establish relationships, develop trust, and maintain rapport with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers in a 100% telephonic setting.
  • Counsel and educate new or existing patients on product use, dosing, administration, device use, insurance coverage, and reimbursement challenges.
  • Evaluate and contribute to the development of program resources.
  • Identify and secure financial options for patients with financial need.
  • Follow program guidelines and appropriately escalated complex cases.
  • Make inbound and outbound calls to patients and caregivers regarding disease states, products, and patient needs, including discussions about insurance coverage and available financial support.
  • Maintain and update patient account records in a digital CRM system.
  • Support provider offices with prescription questions, concerns, or challenges.
  • Report and document adverse events and product/safety complaints per SOPs.
  • Participate in program‑specific meetings and training sessions, orientation meetings, and demonstrate clinical and program competency on written tests.
  • Serve as an advocate for patients and providers regarding insurance coverage, billing, reimbursement, and access to complex pharmaceuticals.
  • Participate in a shared after‑hours nurse service spanning multiple programs.
  • Adhere to training deadlines, corporate policies and procedures, and all SOPs consistently.
  • Perform additional tasks or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • AD or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN, RN) with a valid nursing license in at least one state.
  • Four or more years of nursing experience; prior telephonic experience is a plus.
  • Two or more years of nephrology experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical insurance terminology, reimbursement, billing, and related processes a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to submit a written test sample.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products and comfort with digital CRM systems.
  • Attention to detail and strong follow‑through in patient and provider communication.
  • Empathetic listening skills for effective patient and provider interaction.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with multi‑tasking and pivoting.
  • Strong customer service experience and skills.
  • Eligible to obtain licensure in all 50 states.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

Requires frequent talking and hearing, long periods seated, typing, handling equipment, and reaching with hands and arms. Preference for candidates who can type at least 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy. Minimum travel flexibility may be required. Work occurs in a professional office environment with standard office equipment.
