SummaryThe Nurse Education Coordinator is responsible for designing and conducting educational programs for nursing/clinical staff. This position develops programs to keep existing staff up-to-date, and acts as general resource for nursing personnel.
ResponsibilitiesFacilitates the work of specialized nursing/clinical education providers for specific programs & job classes to ensure programs meet nursing/clinical staff education needs. Assesses program effectiveness for accuracy of content, evidence-based content & standards & outcomes of programs. Utilize needs assessment data to determine future programming & evaluation data to determine the need for revisions in programming.
The coordinator also arranges the preceptor placements for the schools with the UNC nurse/clinic coordinators. The coordinator gives feedback to both parties on performance & operational issues & effective strategies in the clinical areas.
- * Master's degree in an appropriate discipline.
- * Graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing.
- * Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
- * Five (5) years of experience in tertiary care with three (3) years clinical experience in the assigned specialty.
