Pay & HoursJob Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $25.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
Description of WorkBoth positions will support the North Carolina Geological Survey in organizing and maintaining its Core Repository. Work will take place both inside the Core Repository building and in the adjacent yard. The role includes periods of physically demanding activity and requires strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with organizing the Core Repository.
- Sorting, inventorying, and repackaging at-risk geologic cores collected from both offshore and onshore North Carolina.
- Move cores and related collections onto new shelving located in on-site Conex units or other designated areas within the facility.
- Follow guidance from Senior Staff on sorting methods, labeling procedures, prioritization, and repackaging standards.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on completed work.
Bachelor's degree in one of the agricultural, biological, engineering, environmental, or natural resource sciences or a closely related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
