Job Summary
Obsidian Solutions Group is seeking a Mission Command Exercise Leader who will design, develop, and lead complex mission command training exercises for Special Operations Forces. The ideal candidate is a senior‑level Special Operations leader with deep experience in operational planning, mission command systems, and exercise execution at the SOJTF level or higher.

- Lead the planning, design, development, and execution of Mission Command training exercises supporting Special Operations Forces.
- Apply expert knowledge of SOF operations, mission command processes, and joint operational planning to exercise design.
- Manage all elements of exercise execution including personnel, timelines, infrastructure, hardware, network requirements, databases, software, and security.
- Develop realistic training scenarios aligned with SOF mission requirements, operational environments, and command-level objectives.
- Coordinate with military leadership, training units, and technical staff to ensure seamless exercise preparation and delivery.
- Serve as the senior subject‑matter expert for Mission Command exercise methodology, integration, and evaluation.
- Oversee exercise control, adjudication, and integration of mission command systems.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to exercise support personnel.
- Ensure all exercise components comply with DoD, Army, and Special Operations policies, classification requirements, and security protocols.
- Conduct after‑action reviews, produce executive‑level reports, and recommend improvements to future exercise iterations.
- Maintain an understanding of emerging SOF capabilities, mission command technologies, and operational trends relevant to exercise development.

Skills and Qualifications Required
- Graduate of U.S. Army Special Forces Officer Qualifying Course (18A), or
- Warrant Officer 180A and graduate of a U.S. military officer Senior Service College, or
- Graduate of Warrant Officer Senior Service Education Course
- Previous assignment within Special Operations Forces (Special Forces, MISO, Civil Affairs, Ranger Regiment, SOA, Special Mission units)
- Battalion‑level Commander or Chief Warrant Officer at Group level or higher
- Served as primary staff at SOJTF level or higher
- Understanding of exercise design principles and considerations
- Experience managing resources and components involved in exercise development and execution (people, timelines, infrastructure, hardware, networks, databases, software, security)
