Announcement Summary
Fayetteville Technical Community College is recruiting for a new member to join our Public Safety & Security Team and now accepting applications for a full-time Senior Lieutenant! The Public Safety & Security Senior Lieutenant-Training Supervisor is responsible for developing, coordinating, maintaining, documenting, and delivering professional training programs for Fayetteville Technical Community College Public Safety & Security personnel and providing supervisory and security coverage for the main campus when not involved in training.
The Training Officer ensures personnel receive consistent initial, field, in-service, remedial, refresher, and professional development training necessary to safely and effectively perform assigned responsibilities.
Serve as the Department’s primary coordinator for the Field Training Program ( FTP ) and work with Public Safety & Security leadership and supervisors to ensure newly hired officers successfully complete required orientation and field training. Monitor training performance, identify deficiencies, coordinate remedial instruction, and ensure Field Training Officers and supervisors properly document employee progress.
Develop and deliver recurring departmental training in emergency response, radio communications, report writing, patrol and building security, de-escalation, emergency preparedness, medical response, departmental equipment, policies and procedures, and other operational responsibilities.
Obtain and maintain trainer/instructor certifications necessary to provide authorized departmental instruction in areas including CPR , AED , First Aid, OC Pepper Spray, basic self-defense, Narcan, and Stop the Bleed.
Plan and coordinate safety and security training for the larger campus community to help ensure a broad understanding of actions required in emergent situations.
In addition to training responsibilities, the Senior Lieutenant may assume operational supervision of an assigned shift when departmental training responsibilities and scheduled training efforts have been met, and in the absence of the regularly assigned shift supervisor or to provide adequate coverage for special events held on or off campus.
