Trainer Trainer

Reports To: Program Director / Assistant Program Director

Family Services of America (FSA) is a CARF-accredited behavioral health and child welfare organization and a licensed foster care agency in the state of North Carolina, headquartered in North Carolina. FSA provides trauma-informed, evidence-based care to children and families, including licensed foster care and therapeutic foster care, case management, clinical and behavioral health services, and wraparound supports. Our team is committed to the safety, well-being, and healthy development of the children and families we serve, delivering culturally and linguistically responsive services in a supportive, child-centered environment.

The Trainer conducts staff training, selects or develops training materials, and maintains records on training attendance, offerings, and evaluation for FSA’s foster care program. The Trainer ensures all staff complete required pre-service and ongoing training, including specialized training to meet the needs of children in care.

This is a grant-funded, term-limited position for up to three years. Continuation is contingent on grant funding.

• Conduct pre-service and ongoing training for all program staff consistent with agency and NC DHHS licensing standards.

• Select or develop training materials covering trauma-informed care, child safety, abuse prevention, mandated reporting, de-escalation, and the special needs of children in care.

• Maintain accurate records of training attendance, offerings, evaluation measures, and individual staff training compliance.

• Coordinate training on FSA’s evidence-based models (TF-CBT, SPARCS, TFTC) and culturally and linguistically appropriate service delivery.

• Track training effectiveness and recommend improvements; ensure staff meet annual training-hour requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Must be at least 21 years of age. Employment is contingent on successful completion of all required background checks and credentialing, including FBI fingerprint, state repository, child abuse and neglect, and sex offender registry checks, and proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable respiratory diseases.

• Training experience in a foster care or child welfare program.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

• Train-the-trainer certification in TF-CBT, SPARCS, CPI/de-escalation, or trauma-informed care.

Salary: $45,900 – $54,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
