Software Engineer, Embedded Software Engineer
Location:
Fayetteville, NC
Primary focus is on conducting software reverse engineering and providing development, scripting, debugging, and value‑added software support for a digital forensic lab, while maintaining existing software and developing new software to customer specifications.
Responsibilities- Conduct software reverse engineering activities using static and dynamic tools.
- Support application development, scripting, debugging, and software development for the digital forensics lab.
- Maintain existing software and develop new software per customer specifications.
- Provide support for deployment to overseas hazardous environments as needed.
- U.S. citizen willing to be sponsored for a security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
- Willingness to deploy overseas to potential hazardous areas.
- Ability to read and understand x86 and x64 assembly code.
- Proficiency in C, C++, C#, Java, or Python.
- Familiarity with both high‑ and low‑level programming languages.
- Excellent customer service, communication, prioritization, and deadline management skills.
- Strong leadership interpersonal and written communication skills for effective team collaboration.
- Experience with software reverse engineering and development.
- Experience using IDA Pro, dynamic analysis tools, and debuggers.
- Development experience for IDA Pro.
- Experience reversing ARM architecture.
- Proficiency with Android or Linux OS internals.
- Familiarity with EnCase, FTK, or other forensic software tools.
- SANS certifications.
- Experience with malware analysis.
Position requires a U.S. Government Security Clearance. Applicants who do not hold a clearance will be considered for sponsorship, which may be a multi‑year process. Applicants must have not engaged in any illegal drug use within the past twelve months.

Hourly rate: $43.27–$96.15 per hour, dependent on skills, experience, and position specifics.
