Position OverviewThe Coordinator, Field Operations plays a vital role in delivering a first‑class playing surface and game‑day experience at Segra Stadium. This position supports the Manager and Director of Field Operations in the daily care, maintenance, and enhancement of the baseball field and surrounding turf areas. The successful candidate will help ensure that the playing surface meets professional standards, supports player safety, and is recognized as best‑in‑class within Minor League Baseball.
This role also provides leadership to seasonal grounds staff and serves as a key operational partner within the organization.

- Maintain the playing surface in optimal condition for all professional baseball events, including daily infield maintenance.
- Assist in mowing, fertilizing, treating, and maintaining all turf and infield areas.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides.
- Prepare and inspect the field for all games and events, ensuring safe and consistent playing conditions.
- Support game‑day field preparations, including weather monitoring and response procedures.
- Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating seasonal field operations staff.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot mowers, tractors, irrigation systems, applicators, and other grounds equipment.
- Monitor field conditions and recommend improvements or corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain accurate records related to maintenance, treatments, and equipment usage.
- Serve as acting lead for field operations in the absence of the Manager, including supervising staff and coordinating with front office personnel.
- Promote a positive, safety‑focused, and team‑oriented work environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in professional or collegiate sports field management.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience with turf maintenance, sod installation, and field renovation projects.
- Knowledge of turfgrass management practices, equipment, and materials.
- Pesticide license in turf/ornamental landscaping (Turf 3L) preferred.
- Working knowledge of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Proven work ethic, adaptability, and commitment to continuous learning.
This position operates in both office and stadium settings. The role requires frequent work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, rain, and humidity. The majority of working time will be spent on the field and throughout the stadium.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands listed are representative of those required to perform essential job functions.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 60 lbs. regularly and up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work on uneven surfaces for extended periods.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely.
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and weather extremes.
- Regular use of hands and arms for handling equipment and materials.
This is a full‑time position. Due to the nature of baseball operations, this role requires frequent evenings, weekends, and holidays, including attendance at all home games and special events.
