Position SummaryThe Warehouse Specialist Lead (AMMO) reports to a Supervisor/Manager and provides technical and process expertise. Responsibilities include mentoring the team, ensuring workload distribution, identifying workflow concerns, assisting in problem‑solving, developing best practices, verifying materials, managing warehousing operations, and maintaining physical security postures for all assigned storage locations.
Responsibilities- Assign and monitor daily task and workload.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to the team on daily operations.
- Offer technical expertise in all aspects of ammunition, including warehousing, storage compatibility, safety, and accountability.
- Assist in receiving, storing, and issuing ammunition.
- Assist in unloading commercial carriers and loading commercial carriers.
- Verify material against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
- Assist in delivering materials to prescribed storage locations.
- Ensure ammunition is stored, stacked, or palletized per prescribed methods.
- Conduct warehousing operations as required.
- Lock all assigned storage locations/work areas and activate IDS system at the end of each business day.
- Assist in removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.
- Conduct inventories through physical count and record item counts on inventory documents.
- Operate hand or power trucks when performing warehousing duties.
- Assist in the delivery of rapid deployment ammunition during Global Response Force exercises.
- Other duties as assigned to meet organizational or operational objectives.
- Computers, fax machine, copier, printer, and phones; personal computer systems, Microsoft Office Programs, Microsoft SharePoint, and related software.
- Personal Protective Equipment: face mask, eye protection, hand protection, head protection, and approved safety footwear.
- Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
- Banding equipment and related items.
- Work will typically be outdoors and may involve exposure to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.
- Flexibility in work hours is required to meet mission demands; additional hours may be necessary.
- Lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted.
- Stand approximately eight hours a day in a prolonged standing environment.
- Operate in a warehouse and outdoor environment.
- Walk on uneven ground and navigate various sites as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Pass federal and local background checks to access arms, ammunition, and explosives.
- Pass pre‑employment drug test.
- Provide U.S. citizenship documentation (e.g., birth certificate or passport).
- Basic Ammunition Certifications (Ammo‑45, 64, 68, 75, 76) preferred or attainable within three months of employment.
- Forklift license experience required; current license preferred.
- HAZMAT with Ammo certification preferred.
- Valid REAL Driver’s License with no restrictions.
- Maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- Maintain a NACI Tier 1 Public Trust.
- Three years of experience at a supply operations warehouse level.
- Experience in an Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- High ethical standards and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently or within a highly collaborative team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact at all levels.
