Miller International, Inc., the visionary force behind Cinch® and Cruel®, is seeking a seasoned, organized, detail-oriented team member to join us as our new Senior Accountant in our Denver, Colorado office.

As the Senior Accountant, you'll operate under the guidance of the Controller, providing essential financial analysis and overseeing critical accounting functions. Your responsibilities will involve reviewing the daily activities of our accounting team, such as journal entries, account reconciliations, general ledgers, financial reports, etc. You will also manage more complex, higher-level accounting matters as assigned.

This position is in-office only. Salary Range: $85,000-$95,000 annually

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that enables one to get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
  • Direct and assist in the monthly close processes, including but not limited to preparation of monthly account reconciliations, posting journal entries, and preparing financial reports.
  • Review and reconcile bank accounts for multiple entities.
  • Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files and reconciling accounts.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, which include reconciling balance sheet accounts, analyzing expense accounts, and performing credit card and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Work with the accounting team on all daily accounting functions, such as balance sheet reconciliations, monthly close, variance analysis, and internal and external financial reporting.
  • Participates in the establishment and maintenance of corporate accounting principles, practices, and procedures for the company's fiscal records and financial reports.
  • Monitors the system of internal controls and procedures in place to protect company assets and to ensure that business operations are consistent with established policies.
  • Performs financial analysis upon request to help identify and solve problems and evaluate opportunities.
  • Assist the Controller with the annual financial audit and the annual 401(k) audit.
  • Participate in the preparation of quarterly and annual sales/use tax returns
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-7 years of Accounting experience.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a thorough working knowledge of sophisticated Accounting software programs such as Quick Books, payroll systems, and Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, subordinates, customers, and the general public.
