GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Payroll Administrative Assistant I perform a variety of administrative and support duties for the payroll department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Reviews, organizes and scans payroll documentation. Reviews all incoming mail and distributes accordingly.

Reviews and responds to Service Now tickets and emails through shared e‑mailboxes.

Generates and distributes bi‑weekly and monthly post payroll reports.

Completes BLS monthly and quarterly reports.

Prepares and distributes daily on‑demand payments in accordance with department policies, SOX requirements and the mailroom schedule.

Combines backup for approvals, confirms accuracy of totals and provides Fed Ex information, as needed.

Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to:

  • Supports business continuity during extenuating circumstances (i.e. facility closure) by telecommuting from a remote location.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 0‑2 years of experience
  • High school diploma
  • Exercises good judgment while managing confidential and non‑routine information requests.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.

Preferred

  • Basic working knowledge of business processes, procedures systems.
  • Ability to identify and recommend process improvements.
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Overtime on occasion, as needed, up to 5%

Benefits and Wage Range

The Wage Range for the role is $22.50‑$28.50 per hour. If a candidate is hired, they will be paid at least the minimum wage according to their geographical jurisdiction and the exemption status for the position. Washington Exempt: $80,168.40/year. Washington Non‑exempt:
Bellingham: $19.13/hour, Burien: $21.63/hour, Everette: $20.77/hour, Unincorporated King County: $20.82/hour, Renton: $21.57/hour, Seattle: $21.30/hour, Tukwila: $21.65/hour, Remainder of Washington state: $17.13/hour.
