Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Position PurposeThe purpose of this position is to develop, implement, and direct faith formation programs for children (K‑5), youth (6th‑12th), and their families, including faith formation and sacramental preparation in both English and Spanish for First Holy Communion, Confirmation, and Youth Group.
Major Duties and Responsibilities- Collaborates with the Pastor, Parochial Vicar, and other staff in implementing the mission of the parish.
- Participates in the comprehensive planning, implementation, and evaluation of parish goals and objectives with specific focus on children’s ministry and family catechesis in Spanish.
- Assumes a lead role in registering participants and communicating all necessary information within and outside of the parish.
- Develops and implements a calendar for Family Faith formation and sacramental preparation sessions.
- Utilizes approved and recommended catechetical resources in compliance with archdiocesan policy.
- Selects, orders, and maintains inventory of educational supplies and materials in a timely manner.
- Recruits, provides and schedules training, and supports catechists and volunteers who assist in faith formation in Spanish.
- Ensures catechists and volunteers comply with the Safe Environment Program and become certified by the Archdiocese.
- Partners with other staff in preparing and implementing Vacation Bible School during the early part of summer.
- Develops programming and recruits volunteers for Vacation Bible School in collaboration with other formation staff at the parish.
- Ensures the development and maintenance of accurate and confidential record‑keeping systems.
- Provides information to appropriate parties regarding bulletin articles and Mass announcements.
- Attends selected staff meetings, staff retreats, and participates with committee members on major staff events with advanced notification.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- AA degree or High School diploma.
- 1‑2 years of faith formation experience.
- Full bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
