Manager of Post Secondary Support

Job Summary

The Manager of Postsecondary Support role is an integral part of the KIPP Forward team, ensuring KIPP DC alumni are supported along their postsecondary journeys. The starting salary range for this role is $78,436-$85,256. This is a full-time, hybrid flexible role based at KIPP DC headquarters with an immediate start date.

About the Role

The Manager of Postsecondary Support is responsible for supporting a caseload of KIPP DC alumni who are enrolled or seeking post secondary enrollment. The Manager of Postsecondary Support provides ongoing coaching and advising, maintains accurate data, and monitors the enrollment progress of the alumni on your caseload. Additionally, this role supports the KIPP Forward leadership team with planning and executing various stretch projects.

As a headquarters team that is focused on being responsive to our schools and meeting the needs of our students and families, we approach our work in a way that reflects these priorities. This position will generally work independently and not regularly interface with students, families, or school teams. This position will primarily work from our headquarters office to maintain a connection to their colleagues and foster a sense of cross-functional collaboration.

Because of the nature of this position’s work, this role allows for hybrid flexibility and will be required to be onsite 3 days per week.

Responsibilities Alumni Engagement & Support (60% of time)
  • Develop strategic outreach plans to ensure meaningful engagement with alumni caseload
  • Collaborate with alumni, families and key stakeholders to support the short- and long-term goals of alumni
  • Provide coaching and strategic interventions to alumni and support them with implementing strategies that will support their postsecondary advancement
Data & Progress Monitoring (20% of time)
  • Maintain real-time data in databases associated with team specific goals
  • Progress monitor the matriculation and persistence of alumni on caseload at postsecondary institutions
Collaboration & Partnership (20% of time)
  • Collaborate with KIPP Forward leaders to plan and execute projects and initiatives that drive postsecondary matriculation and persistence
  • Collaborate with the KIPP Forward team and HS College and Career Teams to execute relevant programming for students, alumni & families
  • Represent KIPP DC/KIPP Forward when visiting postsecondary institutions and when attending external conferences to promote the organization’s brand and build relationships with key stakeholders
Requirements & Preferences

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of two years experience working in college and career access and persistence spaces
  • Passion for education and strong commitment to KIPP DC's and KIPP Forward's mission
  • General knowledge of FAFSA and financial aid
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the DC Metro area
  • Relevant experience working in a college environment; experience working with diverse populations
