  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle – requirements intake, design, construction, commissioning, and ongoing support.
  • Develop hardware design and process flow for innovative automated equipment and tooling in both simulated and real‑world settings.
  • Design custom automation equipment, including robotic end‑of‑arm tools, peripheral and auxiliary material handling equipment, cell/system layout, safety guarding, and enclosures.
  • Provide production support for sophisticated manufacturing equipment, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement continuous process improvements.
  • Project management and vendor/supplier management.
  • Support initiatives to improve reliability and efficiency of manufacturing processes through automation; accomplish technical architecture, roadmap, and implementation.
  • Integrate mechanical, electronic, pneumatic and related components into unified systems.
  • Improve existing systems for optimal performance and reliability.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, prototyping, and/or process simulations.
  • Work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure system requirements are met.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience with 'from scratch' design, procurement, assembly, commissioning, and maintenance of automated tooling or equipment.
  • 10+ years of experience utilizing CAD with advanced understanding of GD&T on 2D drawings through design, peer review, and engineering release.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and hands‑on problem‑solving abilities.
  • Strong skills for design and process simplification.
  • Ability to communicate optimally, clearly, and with humility to partners.
  • High level of attention to detail, ensuring precision and accuracy in all engineering tasks.
  • Understanding of control systems, robotics, and automated industrial equipment, machines, and processes.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or integration of automated equipment (preferably with an automation systems integrator).
  • Experience with ANSYS or similar engineering simulation software for structural analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), or other multiphysics simulations.
  • Exposure to controls and automation software.
  • Design and modification of PLC, CNC, and robot programs.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or MATLAB.
  • A demonstrated ability to interpret and review electrical drawings.
  • Mechanical design for process control systems, including welding, machining, drilling, surface finishing, forming, material handling, NDT, metrology, and machine vision.
  • Experience with industrial automation solutions.
Benefits
  • Medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long‑term disability, 401(k) with a company match up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.
  • Stock options for all regular employees (working at least 20 hours per week).
