Kennedy Jenks is seeking a motivated Wastewater Process Engineer to join our growing Wastewater Infrastructure team in Washington. This role focuses on wastewater treatment planning, design, and optimization projects that improve system performance, regulatory compliance, and environmental outcomes.

You'll work with multidisciplinary teams on wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, collection systems, upgrades, and expansions.

• Advance process planning and design: Develop wastewater treatment plans, designs, upgrades, and optimization strategies.
• Evaluate treatment needs: Apply engineering analysis to assess system performance, develop alternatives, and inform practical solutions.
• Coordinate technical deliverables: Assist Project Managers and Process Leads with detailed design, technical deliverables, and coordination tasks for small to large civil infrastructure projects, including wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and collection systems.
• Improve treatment processes: Identify physical, chemical, and biological treatment improvements that enhance efficiency, reliability, and environmental performance.
• Facilitate stakeholder communication: Prepare project updates, technical discussions, and compliance‑related documentation for clients, regulators, and project stakeholders.

• Education

  Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or a related engineering field.
• Experience
  : 5+ years of relevant wastewater process engineering experience.
• Technical knowledge

  Wastewater treatment processes, regulations, technologies, system design, optimization, and compliance documentation.
• Certifications or licenses
  :
  Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification required; progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in Washington preferred.
• Travel

  Willingness to travel as needed for project sites, client meetings, and collaboration with Kennedy Jenks offices.
