Position: Civil Engineer in Training (EIT)

We are seeking a dedicated, relationship-driven, growth-minded, Civil Engineer (EIT) to join our growing team in Federal Way, WA. In this role, you’ll collaborate with a talented group of professionals to design municipal projects for our clients. You’ll play a key part in shaping the communities we serve by delivering high-quality, thoughtful solutions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare site layouts and designs in support of municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Perform engineering calculations and analysis to support design decisions.
  • Ensure project timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met in collaboration with project managers.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and local agencies to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Review and interpret survey reports, maps, and as-built drawings.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports and cost estimates.
  • Stay current with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Take on increasing responsibility for project coordination, planning, and communication while maintaining engineering excellence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required.
  • EIT Certification or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications used in civil engineering, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace.
  • Excellent computer, technical writing, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Eagerness to grow beyond core engineering responsibilities and develop expertise in project management.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Valid Drivers license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of engineering experience.
  • EIT certification with the ability and intent to obtain PE licensure.
  • Exposure to municipal and wastewater design standards and software.
  • Experience performing construction inspections to verify compliance with approved plans and specifications, and preparing detailed on-site observation reports.
