Member Consultant II

The target pay range for this position is $26.00–$32.12 per hour. Compensation decisions are determined based on skills, experience, and education. Performance‑based incentives may also be available.

Impact you’ll make

As a Member Consultant II, you will provide a seamless, high‑quality member experience. You will use your expertise to identify, diagnose, and address members’ consumer financial needs and refer them to specialized services when necessary.

What you’ll do
  • Deliver exceptional member experience and sales consultation using product knowledge across business services, consumer lending, deposit servicing, IRA, POA, and Fiduciary accounts.
  • Sign all loan documents that originate through outbound/inbound call center, ensuring each member’s needs are fulfilled.
  • Assist the community with financial wellness, including education programs, budgeting, debt management, and access to planning resources.
Compensation
  • Member Consultant II: $26.00–$32.12 per hour
Role & pod expectations
  • Based in a pod covering Federal Way Crossings and Federal Way Pavilions branches.
  • Rotation across all pod branches for up to the first year.
  • Minimum one‑year commitment before pursuing other opportunities within BECU.
  • Training includes travel to Tukwila Financial Center.
  • Commutes between branches and training location required.
  • Flexibility: schedules given 30 days in advance but may adapt to varying business needs.
Training schedule
  • 12 weeks, Monday‑Friday shifts between 8:00 AM and 6:30 PM.
Post‑training schedule
  • Flexible shifts Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM–6:30 PM.
  • Up to 3 Saturdays per month, 8:30 AM–1:30 PM.
Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of sales‑oriented, financial, or retail experience.

Desired qualifications:

  • One year of experience in a financial institution.
  • Spanish language fluency highly desirable.
  • Strong sales process understanding and pipeline management.
  • Proficiency with learning new systems and programs; ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously.
  • Ability to complete 12‑week in‑house training after hire.
  • Comprehensive understanding of credit union objectives and products.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to membership, deposit, and loan products.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem resolution, negotiation, organization, multitasking, and peer coaching skills.
  • Flexibility to work variable shifts.
