Business Intelligence; BI Consultant

Job Description

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Business Intelligence (BI) Consultant in AVON, Connecticut, United States. The role will be based within the Professional Services industry and will involve working with Business Objects Technologies and Cognos Business Intelligence. The position will also require proficiency in using Google Data Studio.

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain Business Objects and Cognos Business Intelligence solutions
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define data and reporting requirements
• Process, clean, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
• Use Google Data Studio to visualize data and create reports
• Assist in database design, development, and data modeling
• Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques
• Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
• Filter and clean data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
• Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs
• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

• Possess a degree in Business Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Business Intelligence (BI) Consultant or similar role.
• Proficiency in Google Data Studio.
• Excellent knowledge of data analysis and visualization techniques.
• Understanding of business practices and industry trends.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Proven experience in data modeling and business analysis.
• Familiarity with data management principles.
• Ability to translate business needs to technical specifications.
• Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Understanding of machine learning models and AI applications is a plus.
• Knowledge of data warehousing designs, data mining, and information management.
• Professional certification in BI or data analysis is a plus.
