Responsibilities
* Provide sign language interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings
* Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, staff, peers, and families as appropriate
* Interpret classroom instruction, school activities, meetings, and other educational events
* Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and standards of practice
* Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to support student success
* Promote student independence while ensuring equal access to instruction and school activities
* Participate in team meetings and professional development as appropriate Qualifications
* Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score meeting Washington State requirements, or equivalent qualification
* Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA) Certificate (or eligibility to obtain one, if required)
* Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
* School-based interpreting experience preferred, but qualified candidates from other settings are encouraged to apply Benefits
