Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter for a school-based position in Federal Way, Washington for the 2026–2027 school year

Position Highlights- Location: Federal Way, WA
- Position: American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter
- Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
- Setting: In-person, school-based
- School Year: 2026 – 2027
- Provide sign language interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings
- Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, staff, peers, and families as appropriate
- Interpret classroom instruction, school activities, meetings, and other educational events
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and standards of practice
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to support student success
- Promote student independence while ensuring equal access to instruction and school activities
- Participate in team meetings and professional development as appropriate
- Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score meeting Washington State requirements, or equivalent qualification
- Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA) Certificate (or eligibility to obtain one, if required)
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- School-based interpreting experience preferred, but qualified candidates from other settings are encouraged to apply
