Make a meaningful impact in students lives by using your expertise in sign language interpreting in a well-supported educational environment. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with middle school students as part of a dedicated Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) program that provides ample structure and support.
Schedule:- Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM 2:45 PM
As part of this collaborative setting, you will facilitate communication for students in a variety of classroom environments. Your role will include interpreting in both DHH classrooms and general education classes, as well as offering small group and one-on-one interpreting to meet the unique needs of each student.
Qualifications & DesiredExperience:
- Demonstrated proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter (experience in school settings preferred)
- Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher is preferred
- Experience with middle school-aged students is a plus
- Strong team player with a flexible and student-centered approach
- Ability to adapt interpreting styles across academic and social contexts
- Provide interpreting services in classroom and small group settings
- Support effective communication between students, peers, and teachers
- Collaborate with an integrated team within a comprehensive DHH program
- Contribute to the learning environment through sensitivity to diverse student needs
