Piedmont Global is a Strategic Globalization Organization (SGO) helping organizations communicate with intelligence, operate with cultural fluency, and connect effectively across communities and markets. We are currently seeking freelance interpreters to provide language interpretation services from English to and from all spoken languages (ENAll Languages).

Interpreters fluent in Spanish, ASL, Arabic, Albanian, French, Khmer, Korean, Mandarin, and Vietnamese are strongly encouraged to apply.

These are 1099 Independent Contractor positions, with interpretation assignments taking place on-site (OSI), via video remote interpretation (VRI), or over the phone (OPI), depending on our customers' specific needs.

• Serve as an interpreter between individuals with diverse voices, accents, speaking tempos, and personalities.
• Provide clear and accurate interpretations of verbal communication without additions or omissions.
• Interpret questions, answers, statements, arguments, explanations, and other forms of verbal communication.
• Provide sight translations of documents and other written materials as needed.
• Convey the speaker's thoughts, purpose, intent, emotions, and tone from the source language into the target language, and vice versa.
• Inform relevant parties of any factors that may hinder your performance.
• Comply with applicable professional ethics, standards, and client requirements.

Completion of a recognized 40-hour medical interpreter training program or equivalent.

At least two years of interpreting experience in a healthcare setting, whether paid or volunteer.

Professional proficiency in English and the target language(s).

Two relevant professional references, or one professional reference and one relevant letter of recommendation.

Valid government-issued identification.

The following are preferred but not required for all assignments:

• Degree in interpretation, linguistics, languages, or a related field.
• Professional interpreter training of 40 hours or more.
• Relevant interpreting certifications or credentials.
• Previous language assessment or proficiency testing.
• Candidates are encouraged to provide copies of applicable certifications, training certificates, diplomas, or language assessment results.

• Be considered for assignments that align with your language, location, qualifications, and availability.
• Access both on-site and remote interpreting opportunities as client needs arise.
• Build experience supporting a variety of organizations and communities.
• Join an established language network supporting 200+ languages and regional dialects.
