• The Accounting Supervisor supports the CFO and Director of Accounting in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting Department.

• Oversee the month-end close cycle, coordinating journal entry preparation, review and sign-off within established close-day targets to keep reporting on schedule.
• Manage a team of staff accountants and accounting specialists, setting performance expectations, conducting reviews, and providing coaching that closes skill gaps and supports professional growth.
• Respond to inquiries of staff regarding financial procedures for the purpose of providing information, direction and/or referral for addressing inquiry.
• Develop processes and procedures for monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
• Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial reports to management.
• Ad Hoc analyses as needed.
• Other projects and duties as assigned.

• Interviewing, hiring, orienting and training employees.
• Trains, schedules, assigns, and reviews work of staff.
• Ability to engage with the department in a positive meaningful manner.
• Able to identify individual strengths within the team to better facilitate the distribution of work.

• Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.

• Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a minimum of 7 years’ accounting experience and/or training; a minimum of 2 years of directly managing a team. CPA designation a plus.
• Computer skills:
  Highly proficient with MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting software (Sage Intacct experience a plus)
