SummaryThe Biomedical Technician II (BMET II) is responsible for installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and verifying the performance of complex biomedical equipment with minimal supervision. The role serves as a technical advisor to medical and clinical staff, supports equipment selection and development, and upholds Tri Medx core values.
Responsibilities- Technical Service – 40%
- Perform performance assurance (PA) inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections (ESI), and operation verification procedures (OVP) on complex biomedical equipment.
- Repair, install, and calibrate complex equipment.
- Inform supervisors of repair status, unusual equipment situations, and customer concerns.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and outside technicians for proper service delivery.
- Maintain expertise through ongoing training and assist with special projects.
- Regulatory Compliance – 25%
- Maintain equipment database accuracy, including inventory, PA schedules, nomenclature, and service history.
- Adhere to the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP) and regulatory agency requirements.
- Ensure all service documentation is complete, timely, and accurate.
- Account Relationship Management – 25%
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and clinicians.
- Discuss equipment status and functionality with staff.
- Represent Tri Medx services positively and integrate core values into performance.
- Inventory – 10%
- Perform periodic inspections of current inventory status.
- Verify security analysis for new customer equipment and conduct Incoming Inspections (II).
- Maintain accurate inventory database and make recommendations regarding inventory.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Complex computer skills, including system administration, error code interpretation, defragmentation, and hardware replacement.
- Ability to integrate information from multiple sources.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, verbal, written, and presentational communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license required; variable travel based on site requirements may involve personal vehicle.
- 2‑year degree in a technical/electronics field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment.
- CBET certification strongly preferred.
- Requirement waived if applicant holds TRIMEDX Trained Certification or equivalent biomedical certification program.
- Travel may be required based on customer or business needs.
