We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Engineering Document Control Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy, confidentiality, and accessibility of all engineering documents. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities- Document Management:
- Maintain and update document control records and databases.
- Ensure that all engineering documents are appropriately labeled, version controlled, and easily accessible.
- Assign document numbers, revision numbers, and classification codes as required.
- Change Control Management:
- Process and document changes to engineering documents according to company procedures.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper review and approval of document changes.
- Implement and enforce change management policies and procedures.
- Document Distribution:
- Prepare and distribute documents for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain inventory and distribution logs to track document flow.
- Data Integrity:
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all engineering documents.
- Perform periodic audits and reviews to maintain high standards of document control.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of document history, including revision tracking and version control.
- Ensure documents are archived and retained according to regulatory requirements.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements related to document management.
- Stay informed about new regulations and standards affecting engineering document control.
- Quality Assurance:
- Support quality assurance efforts by providing accurate and timely document support.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and process optimization.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- Certification or equivalent experience in document control preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a document control or related role.
- Experience working in an engineering or technical environment.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of document management systems and software.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- PDM/ERP experience.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.
- Experience with regulatory compliance (e.g., FDA, CE, IEC) in the engineering or manufacturing sector
