The Junior Buyer will work as part of the purchasing team to support all Divisions of Miller Industries. Under direction of the Senior Buyer the Buyer performs a wide variety of tasks related to procurement, including (but not limited to): pricing research and comparisons, day-to-day vendor relationship management, critical internal client support, order placement and tracking, managing inventory levels, and supporting new business quotations.
MainDuties & Responsibilities
- Enter purchase orders in the ERP system [Global Shop].
- Source component parts and materials in line with the Bill of Materials [BOM] and Raw material lists [RML].
- Ensure budgets are maintained working in close liaison with both the Purchasing Manager and Project Manager for the project.
- Report on variances and open PO’s to Project Managers
- Follow up with vendors on open purchase orders
- Seek out new vendors, validate performance matrices for on time delivery, quality, and level of business support and maintain vendor relationship.
- Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures.
- Negotiating on vendor pricing, delivery costs and delivery time frames as quoted.
- Resolve receiving and accounting issues.
- Attend project meetings/kick offs.
- Process RMA’s for non-conformance Materials.
- Daily receiving of pack slips.
- Scanning and filing daily.
- Maintaining the open PO dashboard.
- Closing WO sequences: PFAB and FA Divisions.
- Weekly check in with paint to assess supplies. i.e. chemicals, spray cans and shipping items
- Quarterly updates with MIR to review open PO’s and receive in as needed.
- Inventory implementation as needed
- Weekly cycle count verification.
