We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to work in our Engineering department within our Flex Air division in Fenton, MI
. Flex Air is an industry leading design and manufacturer of custom industrial mechanical and electrical modular buildings and custom high-performance HVAC systems. Every solution is meticulously engineered to meet and exceed our customer's expectations. Our products consist of custom air handling units, pre-fabricated modular mechanical buildings, and electrical enclosures. The Electrical Engineer will review project specifications and then design, document and support electrical/electromechanical solutions for commercial and industrial HVAC, hydronic plants, utility plants, and electrical power distribution projects.
Additionally they will provide engineering support for the installation, testing and repair of these products and systems.
- Lead design of custom power and controls systems for customers across many different industries and applications.
- Create plans for power distribution networks
- Perform engineering calculations for power consumption, transformer sizing, conductor sizing, etc.
- Use engineering principles to evaluate and select products, components and equipment to meet customer’s performance and safety requirements.
- Create, modify, and maintain 2D and 3D CAD data, One-Line Diagrams, product documentation and bills of materials
- Assist and support manufacturing with resolution of build issues and troubleshooting
- Support project management with schedule coordination and customer transmittals
- Ensure designs comply, from an engineering standpoint, with all federal, state, or local laws and regulations (i.e. OSHA, NEC, etc)
- Review cost estimate and job specific requirements and report with any costing discrepancies
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university is required.
- 3+ years of Electrical Engineering experience
- Fundamental knowledge of electrical power and control systems
- Excellent root cause analysis skills
- Ability to interact and provide direction to factory electricians
- Experience in industrial and mechanical power systems.
- Experience in HVAC system design and controls
- Experience in Modular construction and equipment design
- Experience with Autocad and Autocad Electrical
