A Police Officer performs law enforcement duties, maintains order in the City, regulates traffic, protects life and property, performs investigations, procures and preserves evidence, and prepares detailed reports on case assignments. Performs other duties as assigned.
- $5,000 Signing Bonus.
- Starting pay is $26.33 per hour. Lateral transfer starting pay based on experience.
- 12-hour shifts.
- Paid vacation time upon successful completion of FTO.
- Excellent medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and resident of the State of Michigan.
- Associate’s degree or 60 Credit Hours required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Must be certified in Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES).
- Must meet department physical and psychological evaluation standards.
- Knowledge and ability to skillfully operate law enforcement/safety/communication equipment and apparatus.
- Requires a wide range of physical abilities in performing routine functions which may be performed in all weather conditions.
