The Service Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Fenton, MI. This role involves performing routine and advanced maintenance and repair on boats and related marine equipment, including inspections, diagnostics, and scheduled service. The Service Technician will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and other technical issues, document findings, and complete repairs in alignment with manufacturer guidelines and safety standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include working with service orders, maintaining a clean and organized work area, collaborating with other team members, and supporting field service tasks as needed.
The role also requires direct interaction with customers to explain service work, provide updates, and ensure a positive service experience.
- Strong maintenance and repair capabilities, including Maintenance & Repair and Maintenance skills for marine or similar mechanical systems.
- Effective troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve technical, mechanical, and electrical issues efficiently.
- Experience with field service activities, including on-site assessments, repairs, and customer support at marinas or storage facilities.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, explain technical information, and maintain a professional, customer-focused attitude.
- Basic knowledge of marine engines, electrical systems, and boating equipment; prior marine or automotive technician experience is preferred.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely, follow service manuals, and adhere to safety and environmental regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in marine, mechanical, or automotive fields is a plus.
- Capacity to lift and move equipment as required, work in outdoor and shop environments, and manage multiple service tasks with attention to detail.
