Para Educator; Library Elementary

The Fergus Falls School District is seeking to fill an elementary para educator (library) position at Mc Kinley school for the 2026-27 school year. This position works 7 hours/day and is scheduled 172 days.

The wage rate is $/hour. This position has a benefit package that includes contributions towards health insurance, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, 403b, pension plan; along with sick and personal leave.

• Prepare for library classes daily (check out books, read stories, keyboarding, etc.).
• Schedule, supervise and assist students in the library on a daily basis, including checking out books, reading with and to students and clerical duties as needed.
• Send daily notices to homeroom teachers concerning overdue books and collect fines for such books.
• Make repairs on damaged books.
• Ready books for reserve as requested by teachers and maintain the reserve shelf.
• Complete the annual inventory of library materials and the preparation of lists of missing books and books to be discarded.
• Complete processing and shelving of incoming books and magazines.
• Supervise students before school, on the playground, in the lunchroom, and after school.
• Order library supplies and books as requested by staff. Keep materials up to date and current for supply and demand.
• Work with individual and/or small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher.
• Guide independent study, enrichment work and remedial work set up by the teacher.
• Alert the regular teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.
• Participate in field trips as requested.
• Work in the office, as needed.
• Operate all office and school machines, as needed.
• Provide support for reading curriculum, as needed.
• In-service participation as required.
