Are you a strategic leader who enjoys connecting financial systems with business operations and innovation? We’re looking for a Manager, Financial Systems to lead and optimize the systems that power our financial reporting and decision-making.

In this role, you’ll provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Company’s financial ERP and related business systems, ensuring the integrity and reliability of financial data across platforms to support accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient processes. You’ll partner closely with Accounting, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to oversee system activities including upgrades, integrations, testing, and issue resolution, while leading system readiness for financial close processes to drive system improvements, strengthen data governance, and advance automation and emerging technologies.

You’ll also play a key leadership role in aligning financial systems with organizational strategy to drive system improvements, strengthen data governance, and advance automation and emerging technologies.

Success in this role will be measured by the reliability and performance of financial systems, the effectiveness of automation and process improvements, and the ability to build and develop financial systems capabilities, enabling the delivery of timely, accurate insights that support decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for financial ERP systems (including Oracle) and related business platforms
  • Develop and maintain a long‑term roadmap for financial systems aligned with organizational strategy
  • Support enterprise initiatives, special projects, and analytical efforts
  • Ensure the security, integrity, and availability of financial data across systems
  • Lead system readiness and planning for monthly and year‑end financial close activities
  • Ensure financial systems support internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory compliance
  • Serve as the primary liaison and business owner between Accounting, IT, and business units for system enhancements and issue resolution
  • Oversee system administration activities such as upgrades, integrations, testing, and issue resolution in collaboration with IT and external partners
  • Identify and champion opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and controls through automation and workflow optimization
  • Oversee user training, documentation, and support strategies for financial systems and reporting tools
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • Five (5)+ years of progressive experience in financial systems, accounting systems, or related areas
  • Experience supporting or managing enterprise financial systems, including ERP platforms
  • Strong understanding of how financial transactions flow through integrated systems
  • Proven ability to partner with IT and business stakeholders on system updates, testing, and issue resolution
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment
What Sets You Apart

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a regulated utility or similarly regulated industry
  • Experience leading ERP implementations, upgrades, or system transformations
  • Experience with system integrations, data flows, or cloud‑based environments

Additional Strengths

  • Familiarity with SOX/internal controls related to financial systems and change management
  • Experience developing and coaching team members while building and evolving financial systems capabilities over time
  • Experience driving process improvement, automation, or workflow optimization initiatives
  • Exposure to emerging technologies, including AI‑enabled or automation tools
  • Strong data governance mindset with a focus on accuracy, controls, and usability
  • Ability to influence outcomes and lead initiatives across functional teams

At Otter Tail Power Company, you’ll be part of a collaborative environment that values innovation, continuous improvement, and employee development.

The expected base compensation for this role is $117,000 – $162,000 annually. Actual base compensation within the range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
