Supply Chain Specialist - Keep Our Supply Chain Moving

At Vector, our Supply Chain Specialists play a vital role in supporting purchasing, inventory, planning, and shipping functions that keep our operations running efficiently.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working cross-functionally, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in accuracy, organization, and strategic thinking.

Primary Objective of Position
  • Responsible for supporting business activities within the supply chain as they relate to Vector’s accounting, inventory management, procurement, planning, and shipping functions
  • Point person within the supply chain for communication and documentation accuracy to receiving, accounts payable, inventory management, manufacturing, shipping, and customer service
  • Highly involved with all aspects revolving around procurement functions as well as providing support and oversight for good inventory management practices and reporting
Major Areas of Responsibility
  • Primarily responsibility is strategic buying to support operational needs
  • Review daily, overdue purchase orders from vendors
  • Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite shipments
  • Resolve discrepancies such as shortages, missed, or late deliveries with suppliers
  • Update, review, & maintain accurate purchasing records
  • Work in conjunction with receiving and accounts payable to resolve procurement discrepancies
  • Highly involved with inventory cycle count program and problem solving
  • Ensure all vendor returns are promptly recorded, and credit process gets resolved to completion
  • Develop great working relationships with supplier contacts
  • Provide backup support of the production scheduling as necessary
  • Perform additional duties and assignments as directed by management
  • Provide support to Supply Chain dept by overseeing the execution of the day-to-day procurement responsibilities
  • Primary backup for the Production Scheduler

Qualifications

and Requirements
  • Previous purchasing experience
  • Strategic inventory management experience
  • High school graduate or holder of an equivalency certificate preferred
  • Sufficient computer and keyboarding skills
  • Must possess good organization & communication skills
  • The ability to work independently is highly advantageous
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
