Position: Project Manager I

Otter Tail Power Company is seeking a motivated and collaborative Project Manager to lead transmission‑related projects from initial planning through construction, commissioning, and closeout. In this role, you will oversee complex, multi‑year projects ranging from $5 million to $100 million, ensuring they are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and company standards. You will develop project estimates, budgets, schedules, and execution plans while coordinating closely with internal partners—such as asset management, customer service, sourcing, accounting, and legal—and with external consultants, vendors, and contractors.

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, or a related field, or possess equivalent experience, along with at least two years of project management or team‑related experience. Candidates should be skilled in leading engaged teams, communicating clearly, managing multiple priorities, and resolving issues proactively. A general understanding of large‑scale construction projects is required, and transmission line experience is a plus.

Strong decision‑making abilities, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and the capacity to interpret and ensure compliance with contract terms are essential. The position also requires knowledge of or willingness to learn OTP safety rules, an understanding of project risk management, and the ability to maintain strong initiative and motivation. Travel within the Otter Tail Power service territory will be required.
