Overview
Otter Tail Power Company is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Project Manager to lead the execution of large transmission projects from early development through construction and final closeout. This role oversees all aspects of scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and risk management while coordinating consultant hiring, public outreach, landowner and agency engagement, route development, permitting activities, and securing necessary approvals.
Responsibilities- Lead cross-functional collaboration with asset management, field crews, sourcing, accounting, legal, and external contractors to guide procurement planning, construction oversight, quality assurance, outage coordination, commissioning, energization, transition to operations, and project closeout.
- Manage multiple high-impact projects, interpret contracts, apply OTP safety rules, and lead high-performing teams through clear communication, sound decision-making, and consistent accountability.
- Coordinate consultant hiring, public outreach, landowner and agency engagement, route development, permitting activities, and securing necessary approvals.
- Travel within the service territory may be required; foster a strong safety culture throughout all phases of work.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (master’s preferred).
- At least 10 years of progressive project management experience, including five years managing complex electric utility projects.
- Demonstrated success in transmission line and substation construction; strong analytical and planning capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Ability to manage multiple high-impact projects, interpret contracts, apply OTP safety rules, and lead high-performing teams through clear communication, sound decision-making, and accountability.
- Collaborative and adaptable leadership style with a commitment to continuous improvement; ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

- The expected base compensation for this role is $105,000 to $132,000 annually. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
