Position Summary

These part‑time positions provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise/monitor care given by LPNs and CNAs in accordance with Federal, State, Veterans Administration, and facility standards. Shifts may be evening/day, evening/night, or night. Each shift includes at least 64 hours per two‑week pay period and may include additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct nursing care to residents.
  • Direct and monitor care performed by LPNs and CNAs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Licensed in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse, in good standing.
  • Knowledge of nursing practices and techniques sufficient to provide effective nursing care for residents.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Effective communication skills sufficient to provide and follow instructions.
  • Computer experience sufficient to complete electronic charting and use basic computer functions such as email.
  • Ability to make decisions within the scope of nursing responsibilities.
  • Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care provided by other staff, recommend changes, and provide mentoring.
  • Ability to teach self‑help skills to residents.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a skilled nursing facility.
  • Long‑term care experience.
  • Geriatric care experience.
  • Experience with MDS assessments.
Additional Requirements
  • A Minnesota Department of Human Services background check may be conducted on the top finalist(s) for the position(s). Pass is required.
  • A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x‑ray) is required prior to employment.
  • Employment reference checks will be conducted on all finalists, including documentation of job performance and contact with former employers.
